December 11, 2015, 15:45 Kyiv time. Zenit-3SLBF LV has been successfully launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome with meteorological satellite “Elektro-L» №2 onboard.
Zenit-3SLBF launch vehicle was developed by Yuzhnoye State Design Office and manufactured by Yuzhmash Production Association SE in cooperation with other companies. The launcher is one of the most successful in the world and is designed to deliver spacecraft of an average weight to the medium and high circular and elliptical Earth orbits, including the geostationary transfer orbit and geostationary orbit.
The “Elektro-L” №2 SC is a Russian meteorological remote sensing satellite that will perform multispectral acquisition of the whole visible disk of the Earth in the infrared band.
This launch has become the 10th one within the Land Launch program.
