On February 22, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine signed a Memorandum on the launch of the transport innovation project HypeUA, within which the development of the newest transport technologies in Ukraine, first of all, the high-speed transport system Hyperloop. From YUZHMASH the document was signed by the Director General of the enterprise S. Voyt.
The active participation of YUZHMASH in the project will be to create a physical infrastructure for the Hyperloop transport system.
The partners of YUZHMASH will be: the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine (initiator and coordinator of the project), as well as the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, State Concern “Ukroboronprom” , Octagonal Corporation, municipal enterprise “Agency for the Development of the Dnipro” by Dniprovsky City Council, Interpipe Ukraine LLC, Kakhovsky Plant of Electric Welding Equipment” PJSC, Unit.City, Ukrainian Institute of the Future and Innovation Development Platform.
The project is aimed at creating the basis for the development of innovative transport systems in Ukraine.
Now there are three stages of project implementation. During the first stage – the research stage – it is planned to obtain a scientific assessment of the necessary technologies, possible risks and the potential of the project. The second stage is the creation of a test site in the city of Dnepr with the support of partners who are building Hyperloop in Mexico. The third stage is industrial production.
From the second stage, planned wide involvement of the private capital in the form of venture capital investments. The state’s participation, first of all financial, will decrease with each stage. The state will not be the owner, builder and developer of a new mode of transport.
